Google - Street view

Role:
2D and 3D animations, Lighting, Shading, Rendering
Software: Cinema 4d
Studio: Sehsucht Berlin

This project began as a pitch to introduce Google's new service Street View.
I mainly worked on the little yellow guy in all the shots and on the illustrations. The big goal was to integrate 2d and 3d animations in a nice stop motion look into the real shot footage. Which means to rebuild a light setup and shader setup for the scene and find a way of projecting the 2d animations on animated sheets of paper. Furthermore I had to find a solution to quickly animate the illustrations that it looks like traditional cel art animation. I mainly used sketch and toon to do so. Some of the 2d animations like the foot steps of the elephant were just animated frame by frame in photoshop.
In the end the project turned out really nicely and I think it's also because of the big amount of little animated details here and there.
